About the equipment

API Basco equipment for industrial applications.

Basco is an API Heat Transfer brand with shell-and-tube equipment for industrial heat-transfer duties. A heat-exchanger inquiry needs both sides of the process: fluid names, inlet and required outlet temperatures, flow rates, allowable pressure drop, design pressure and materials. Those details help establish the required thermal duty and construction.

The Type 500 family offers a standardized shell-and-tube design with configuration and material options. The supplied image below shows two Type 500 units. For replacement work, send the nameplate and dimensions as well as the operating conditions; a similar-looking shell does not establish that the internal construction is interchangeable.

Type OP shell-and-tube exchangers and Type ES extended-surface coolers are other Basco product families. Type ES equipment is used for gas-cooling duties, including intercooling and aftercooling. The choice depends on the fluids and process, not simply the space available. The gallery provides examples of these different equipment forms.
